Replacing What Was Lost

For more than 140 years, the praises of the people of St Jude’s have been accompanied by a fine pipe organ which was built in 1868 by Melbourne organ builder, George Fincham.

In October 2014, the organ suffered extensive damage as a result of a fire in the church. Many of the metal pipes melted, and the organ could not be restored to its original sound.

St Jude’s now plans to replace what has been lost through the refurbishment and installation of an organ originating from the same period to support regular congregational singing and provide music for weddings, funerals and other significant events for generations to come.

A Pipe Organ for the Next Century
